Rachel + Jon | Lincoln Park West Seattle Engagement

I had completely forgotten that Rachel told me she was a dancer. We showed up to our shooting spot at Lincoln Park, wandered in a ways and I saw a great clearing to get started. I love open space and outdoor locations the most for shooting. No one’s around to watch, there’s room to move, and fresh pine air never hurt anyone. I digress. I forgot she told me she was a dancer. I told them to just move around together a bit while holding hands, more so I could work on my lighting and settings, and what I got was chemistry made visible with the way these two worked across this forest floor — all within 5 seconds. What followed was an hour of side-splitting laughter. I clicked about 3 million images this whole session and I just love it. I’m so excited to shoot their wedding next month.

Katelyn + Drew | A Chelan Backyard Wedding

I’m not even sure where to begin with these two. When I met Katelyn & Drew for their engagement session, I knew they were incredible authentic, kind, genuine souls. But it wasn’t until their wedding day that I was completely floored at their dedication to one another, the beauty of the love of their friends and family, and the joy that everyone shared as they started their life in union.

I was amazed at how much was done by friends and family. Her family friend, Krishna, did the amazing florals and table decor, including Kateyln’s beautiful flower crown, and Katelyn did her own makeup and hair. Katelyn styled the whole thing, with BHLDN velvet dresses for the bridesmaids and a gorgeous backless lace dress and killer Sam Edelman shoes that created a romantic and luxe bohemian gathering that I was so dang lucky to be a part of.

I cried during the ceremony as the small A-frame chapel filled with powerful song. Everyone was swept up in the music, and it felt profound to bear witness. As I walked the aisle from back to front, the music got even louder and I swear I could feel it in my bones. It completely embodied the feeling of the day.

Katelyn & Drew, thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me capture this for you.

Jasmine + Lance | Discovery Park Couples Session

If I could design a dream session, it would include a super-in-love couple, a golden sunset, a vast field and a warm breeze.  This session delivered on EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM.  Jasmine & Lance are two Australians living in Seattle and to witness their love for each other was heart-melting and lovely.  I usually prompt my couples to create movement and moments of connection, but these two were so in tune sometimes it felt like I wasn't even there (and I mean that in the best possible way).  As a photographer, I feel it's my duty to capture the love and connection exactly as it is right now.  I don't want too many of "my" poses showing up -- it should be a reflection of you.  I hope you love the session as much as I do!

Deception Pass Couple Session

Brittani and Connor are the ultimate sweet love story.  They met and started dating in high school, got married and moved to Seattle with the Navy.  Brittani has an amazing YouTube channel where she shares her experience as a military spouse and just life in general!  Connor gets on now and then too and it's so fun to watch their story.  Check it out here.

We headed out in some brutal Everett traffic but we made it to Deception Pass and guys -- NO ONE WAS THERE.  It was kind of crazy, because it was the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend.  I've been up there several times, but I've never had such free reign.  It was pretty amazing!  We wandered around the amazing park and my photographer heart was in heaven.  Such beautiful lighting and so many great spots to shoot.  My absolute favorite part of couple sessions is watching the couple unwind and play together -- the pressure falls away and you just get into this amazing groove and make beautiful images.  Heart meets art, for sure.

Enjoy the session!  :)
