My Favorite Everyday Jewelry

One of my best fashion hacks is never taking off my jewelry. It may sound super simplistic (because it is), but wearing a layered rotation of delicate jewelry helps me feel pulled together even on days when I have about 2 minutes to get dressed. Which is most mornings, amirite?

I love the way that delicate jewelry can feel so personal. These little pieces might not be showstoppers on their own but they travel with us through our daily lives, meetups, work, weekend trips, etc. Over time they take on a little patina and reflect us and every bit of our story. I like to change out the necklaces every now and then and rearrange my rings, but they’re usually part of my everyday outfits.

Here are a few of my favorites from Able. Clicking the photo will take you directly to the link.

Jeans On My Fall Wishlist

We’ve all heard Gen Z declare loud and clear that skinny jeans are out. But here’s the thing about being in your 30s and beyond — you just DGAF about holding on to trends with white knuckles. :D That being said, after looking at my denim drawer, I’m feeling like there’s a little room for a wider leg aesthetic. I distinctly remember my favorite pair of jeans ever as a kid — they were a beautiful medium wash Jordache jean with a wider straight leg. When I tell you I SLEPT in them.

This fall I’m hearkening back to my 90s youth and enjoying the look of a straighter/wide leg. It looks so dreamy paired with sweaters and knits, or even a fitted tee and a blazer. Here are some styles I’m currently crushing on:

Bathtime Upgrade

After seven years of apartment living in Seattle, one of the things we were most excited about when designing our primary bathroom was including a giant tub. We’re both bath takers and were sorely missing that up to your neck feeling of being submerged in water. It’s so good! We’ve been loving our tub, and now that cooler weather is on the horizon again, I’m ramping up my bathroom situation to create a luxury experience whenever I need it. So, the crusty towels we had for over ten years had to go.

This Spa Rib set from Pact is such a fresh upgrade. They’re lightweight and definitely oversized for a full blanket experience getting out of the tub. I’ve always shied away from lighter towel colors out of fear and preservation, but since these are just for the grownups in our little bathroom oasis I felt ready to take the plunge. (Bath pun intended.)

Pact is pretty cool, too, because they’re a completely carbon neutral company.

You can find your own set of towels right here and take 20% off with code EMILYK20. Happy bath season!

I Tried Twisting My Shirt

The buttondown gets top billing for most versatile wardrobe piece, and for good reason. Today I was feeling creative and decided to try something a little different with my shirt styling. I twisted it and tucked it in over a simple tank to create more of an open blouse look. I don’t usually tend toward artsy styling tricks but today it just felt right. It felt a little more special (and definitely more casual) than buttoned and tucked. I try not to be too fussy with my styling since I hate adjusting my clothing all day long. But, I can say that this twist held up to a photoshoot I did this morning and it didn’t drive me crazy! After the shoot my family and I took a quick trip to the zoo, and I swapped the shoes out for Birks but still felt very cool mom.
