Chelan Lake House | Seattle Interior Photogaphy

Just a few hours from Seattle lies a majestic lake surrounded by golden rolling mountains, featuring a quaint downtown and a thriving outdoor scene. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s not. Lake Chelan is a huge draw for Seattle residents as it offers a completely different topography and weather experience than its sometimes gloomy seaside neighbor. It makes an excellent location for a vacation home, and it was a joy to photograph this house designed by Mandy Callaway, a full service interior designer with an impressive range of projects in the Seattle area. Her work is highly specialized to the client, with thoughtful detail in consideration to the space’s use, surroundings and inhabitants.

As a vacation home for a Seattle family, this house hits the checkpoints of a fun destination with a light and airy feel. The emphasis on indoor-outdoor living is celebrated with an open floor plan featuring a great room surrounded in windows with a beautiful pass-through to accommodate guests inside and outside. A veritable light box with the most fun and playful decor, this one was a pleasure to photograph.

Captivating the Essence of Spaces: Modern Bright Airbnb Photography

In the world of vacation rentals, Airbnb has revolutionized the way people experience travel and hospitality. From cozy apartments to luxurious villas, Airbnb offers a wide range of accommodation options for travelers seeking unique and memorable experiences. To stand out in this competitive market, hosts and property owners are increasingly turning to professional photographers to capture the essence of their spaces. Over the years, I’ve been working to create modern, bright Airbnb photography that beautifully highlights eclectic design and unique living spaces.

Getting it right starts with the client. Infusing a space with good details are the first step in creating brilliant imagery. The charm of eclectic world decor lies in its ability to infuse spaces with a sense of adventure, culture, and personal storytelling. Each carefully curated piece has a unique story to tell, reflecting the owner's travels, interests, and aesthetic sensibilities. I understand the importance of capturing these stories within the frame, ensuring that this effort and personalization takes center stage in the photography. Whether it's an intricately woven Moroccan rug, a collection of hand-painted ceramics from Mexico, or a display of antique Asian artifacts, the expertise lies in highlighting these treasures while maintaining a cohesive visual narrative.

My signature style revolves around creating modern bright imagery that radiates warmth and positivity. Through skillful use of lighting techniques and post-processing, I enhance the natural light in each space, allowing it to fill the frame with a welcoming glow. This approach not only elevates the visual appeal of the decor but also showcases the unique character and atmosphere of the Airbnb listing. Whether it's a sun-drenched living room, a vibrant patio with lush greenery, or a cozy bedroom bathed in soft light, the photographs breathe life into the spaces, inviting potential guests to envision themselves within these immersive environments.

Beyond the lighting and colors is the power of composition and attention to detail in capturing the spirit of eclectic world decor. Each photograph is meticulously crafted, taking into account the placement of objects, angles, and perspectives that best showcase the personality of the space. By focusing on intricate details such as textures, patterns, and unique design elements, we artfully tells stories through the lens, evoking a sense of wanderlust and cultural appreciation.

Working closely with Airbnb hosts and property owners, I prioritize collaboration and understanding the vision they have for their spaces. We engage in open communication to ensure that their aspirations are captured in the photography. By truly comprehending their design intentions and the target audience of their listings, I deliver photographs that align with their expectations and objectives. This collaborative approach has earned a reputation for not only producing visually stunning imagery but also for creating a positive and satisfying experience for clients.

Airbnb photography has witnessed a transformation in recent years, with hosts recognizing the power of compelling visuals in attracting guests. As an editorial Seattle commercial photographer, it’s my goal to bring a fresh and vibrant perspective to this arena, excelling at capturing the allure of eclectic design and unique spaces. Through modern, bright photography, I create visually striking images that celebrate the unique character and charm of each space. By balancing composition, lighting, and attention to detail, I transform Airbnb listings into immersive experiences that ignite the imagination of potential guests. With a keen eye and commitment to client satisfaction, it’s my goal to elevate the world of modern interior photography, leaving a lasting impression on both hosts and travelers alike.

Seattle Airbnb Photographer + Video | Cave B

After a long Seattle winter (with still a good amount to go) I was more than enthusiastic about a daytrip over the pass to Eastern Washington. It’s really magical to emerge from the densely mountainous and green Snoqualmie Pass into the brown rolling hills of our desert land. To be greeted with pristine blue skies is such a gift in these darker shorter days.

Just inside the Cave B property is a unique and hyper-modern building project designed by the Seattle architectural firm Olson Kundig. Several groupings of neo brutalist dwellings are strewn about the desert property. Floor to ceiling windows and interiors that seamlessly transition to exteriors create an almost glamping-like effect (except with indoor plumbing and insulation). The view stretches over the Columbia River Gorge where you can walk to summer concerts.

Plato’s Cave is a new vacation rental on Airbnb that offers guests an experience of this stunning landscape. A perfect place to escape the Seattle grind and be surrounded by beautiful architecture, this new space has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and boasts a beautiful firepit lounge and hot tub.

As an interior photographer in Seattle, I’m used to lots of craftsman details, so to photograph an uber modern structure was such a fun change of pace. The interior design is muted and cool in tone, a refreshing shadow in a sun-drenched desert otherwise. The technical challenge in this project was bringing the view of the outdoors into every shot. I stray from real estate photography in which an almost otherworldly clear view out the windows is the norm, and everything is over-bright. I want it to feel like you’re really in the space, with the photos portraying an editorial and lifestyle approach. Reading the light and shadow of each individual space, I tailor my natural-light approach to finding the best balance of nuance and detail.

Enjoy beautiful Plato’s Cave!

Cle Elum Vacation Rental | Seattle Hospitality Photographer

When it comes to vacation rentals that have everything you need to travel comfortably as a family, Digs Co. has it down pat. We’ve been traveling with them since before our first was born and now as a family of four. In each of the many properties that they host, you can find a welcome basket full to the brim, high-quality finishes and decor, ultra-comfy beds, and luxury perks like hot tubs and game rooms. Having traveled to many Airbnbs and Vrbos over the years, you can always tell when a host goes above and beyond to create an experience, not just a side income.

We stayed in their Sun Country Digs house in November and had a great time. And honestly, that’s saying a lot when you’re traveling with young kids. The kids ran up and down the stairs from the open-plan kitchen/living room (decorated with the most beautiful pops of emerald green) to the upstairs kid-paradise hangout space, featuring oversized bean bag chairs they enjoyed diving into over and over. My husband and I enjoyed being able to see and hear them run a little wild while we relaxed. We spent long nights reading and enjoying the hot tub and going out to eat in the local Roslyn restaurants (Base Camp Books and The Brick are our faves).

Digs Co. properties are always in great locations. In this spot, we enjoyed being nestled into towering pines with only a few quiet cabins nearby. Remote with quick access to amenities, which is key for a traveling family.

I’ve partnered with Chelsea and Luke, the Digs Co. owners, for years, and have had the joy of photographing over ten of their properties. Each one has unique and beautiful interior design, and is so thoughtfully prepared. They set a standard for excellence in the business of short term rentals and make guest experience an art. Creating travel lifestyle content with them is such a joy, and staying with them is always a refreshing highlight that my whole family adores.
