Asri Homes Launch Collection in Chicago | Commercial Interior Photography

Every so often, I get the chance to collaborate on a project that aligns perfectly with my passion for storytelling through photography and design. When Asri Homes reached out to photograph their launch collection, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Their vision of blending sustainable, modern luxury with timeless design resonates deeply with my approach to capturing interiors and lifestyle moments.

Though I’m based in Seattle, my commercial photography projects take me far and wide to capture the essence of brands and individuals. The project took me to my hometown, Chicago, a city known for its iconic architecture and vibrant creative scene. The excitement of boarding the flight wasn’t just about heading to my favorite city—it was about working with a company where sustainability and innovation in design takes center stage. Asri Homes embodies this spirit, creating spaces that are both aspirational and inviting. Asri partners with artisans with family-owned workshops to create their pieces, which you truly have to see to believe (throwing no shade to my own photography work here!).

Asri Homes is redefining the modern home experience in the sustainable space. Their launch collection is a stunning representation of thoughtful design, where every detail—from the textures and materials to the flow of the spaces—is meticulously crafted by hand. These pieces are not just pretty objects to live with; they are pieces that inspire, connect, and elevate everyday living.

The photoshoot itself was so much fun. Each piece told its own story, and my goal was to translate that narrative into imagery. The shoot was very much lifestyle-oriented, focusing on how these pieces invite elevated everyday living. The Asri team was so fabulous and the shoot felt like being with old friends.

With Asri, I styled vignettes to emphasize the aspirational yet attainable quality of the collection. From cozy reading nooks bathed in natural light to open-concept spaces designed for gathering, every shot aimed to highlight the personality and functionality of the collection. The Asri team was incredible to work with, and their attention to detail comes through not only in their collection, but in the production of the shoot environment. We captured this collection at Subtle Haus, a beautiful co-working space and creative studio downtown. The floor-to-ceiling windows made for such beautiful natural light.

This project was a true highlight of my year, and I’m excited to see how Asri Homes continues to shape the landscape of modern living. If you’re as inspired by their vision as I am, I encourage you to explore their collection here.

Thank you, Asri Homes, for trusting me to capture the heart of your launch collection. Here’s to more opportunities to tell the stories of extraordinary spaces!

Seattle Interior Airbnb Photography | Queen Anne

It’s a two-fer! This beautiful Queen Anne home is actually a duplex, both with stunning views of the Puget Sound. Located in my favorite part of the neighborhood (where we first lived when we moved to Seattle!), it’s a short walk from Kerry Park, Parsons Gardens and the downtown core of Upper Queen Anne. We had such fun styling this shoot, creating a dreamy tablescape (using discards from the landscapers working outside, yes, literally!). A bit of greenery goes such a long way in creating inviting images, even with short term rental photos. Bringing an Airbnb or VRBO listing to life means treating the photos like a magazine shoot. It goes way above real estate photos (whose goal is to show each room looking its biggest and brightest). In interior shoots, the goal is to create a mood on the inside. It helps a prospective guest imagine what a stay would look and feel like, inviting a little more imagination. That’s also why good interior shoots take TIME. This is a big expectation shift if your only experience previously has been real estate photos for listing. The intentionality in composition and styling is huge, and really makes the difference in stellar listing photography.

You can book this beauty right here and now on Airbnb.

Lifestyle Brand Photography in Seattle | Bamboo Abode

Creating a visually stunning brand is an art form, and capturing your product in a visually beautiful way is so impactful to the development and success of your brand identity. In commercial photoshoots, not only is the goal to attract new customers, but to hone in on the story that your brand tells so that it attracts raving fans vs just driving individual conversions. Planning your photoshoot is a collaborative process between us, and the more you’re able to bring to the table the better the result.

This recent shoot with Bamboo Abode is the poster child for what happens when a brand has done their homework and planning to create a beautiful shoot. There is enough structure for success while leaving some white space for improvisation and the unpredictable moments where light shines in in just a certain way.

  1. Inspiration and Theme: Start by gathering inspiration for your photoshoot. Consider the vibe you want to convey – is it rustic and cozy, modern and chic, or perhaps a blend of both? Choose a theme that aligns with your brand and the message you want to send.

  2. Location Scouting: Seattle is brimming with photogenic locations that can enhance the visual appeal of your charcuterie board. Make sure the location complements your chosen theme and provides ample natural light for those perfect shots.

  3. Product Design: Before the photoshoot, carefully curate your products to reflect your brand's aesthetic. Consider the color palette, textures, and arrangement of elements. When you’re going for a brand photoshoot, it’s less about featuring every single piece you offer and more about creating an intentional collection to tell the strongest story.

  4. Props and Styling: Enhance the visual storytelling of your brand by incorporating props and styling elements. In this shoot, we used elegant serving utensils, rustic cutting boards, fresh herbs, and decorative plates to add a touch of sophistication to the photos. Consider the overall color scheme and choose props that complement the theme and mood of your shoot. We brought the products to life with a lifestyle portion to the shoot models interacting with the product.

  5. Plan & Outline: Think about the final use of the images you’re creating. Where will they be used? What orientation will the need to be shot in to provide the crop ratio you’ll need? What are the most important themes you need to explore? Using all of this information, draft an outline. Even if the shoot strays a bit from this, it will ensure the most important elements are covered. I love leaving space for inspiration to strike and for improvisation. I’m happy to help in the production but am not a brand agency, so the more direction you come into the shoot process with the better the result.
