Seattle Commercial Architectural Photographer | MacPherson Remodel

Newport Haven: A Modern Retreat by MacPherson Construction

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph Newport Haven, one of MacPherson Construction’s standout projects. Located on the Eastside of Seattle, this home is a stunning blend of modern elegance and functionality, embodying the essence of luxurious city living.

Newport Haven was designed with a focus on seamless indoor-outdoor living. The architectural elements, from expansive glass walls to the carefully curated material palette, create a harmonious connection between the home and its dynamic urban surroundings. Every detail, from the open-concept living spaces to the spa-like bathrooms, reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and innovation.

My goal for this project was to capture the feeling of this dramatic and sweeping space. Each image was composed to highlight the property’s unique features, such as its sleek modern kitchen, unique bathroom, incredible vaulted ceiling and bespoke light fixtures. The natural light pouring into the home played a starring role in the shoot, accentuating the clean lines and high-end finishes that define MacPherson Construction’s work.

What sets Newport Haven apart is its ability to balance luxury with a sense of home. Whether it’s the serene primary suite, the Batman-inspired office, or the entertainment-ready outdoor spaces, this property is designed to elevate everyday living while making a bold architectural statement. Collaborating with MacPherson Construction was an inspiring experience—their dedication to excellence is evident in every corner of this home.

Newport Haven isn’t just a house; it’s a lifestyle. Photographing this masterpiece was a privilege, and I’m thrilled to have contributed to showcasing its beauty and craftsmanship. Asri Homes Launch Collection in Chicago | Commercial Interior Photography

Every so often, I get the chance to collaborate on a project that aligns perfectly with my passion for storytelling through photography and design. When Asri Homes reached out to photograph their launch collection, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Their vision of blending sustainable, modern luxury with timeless design resonates deeply with my approach to capturing interiors and lifestyle moments.

Though I’m based in Seattle, my commercial photography projects take me far and wide to capture the essence of brands and individuals. The project took me to my hometown, Chicago, a city known for its iconic architecture and vibrant creative scene. The excitement of boarding the flight wasn’t just about heading to my favorite city—it was about working with a company where sustainability and innovation in design takes center stage. Asri Homes embodies this spirit, creating spaces that are both aspirational and inviting. Asri partners with artisans with family-owned workshops to create their pieces, which you truly have to see to believe (throwing no shade to my own photography work here!).

Asri Homes is redefining the modern home experience in the sustainable space. Their launch collection is a stunning representation of thoughtful design, where every detail—from the textures and materials to the flow of the spaces—is meticulously crafted by hand. These pieces are not just pretty objects to live with; they are pieces that inspire, connect, and elevate everyday living.

The photoshoot itself was so much fun. Each piece told its own story, and my goal was to translate that narrative into imagery. The shoot was very much lifestyle-oriented, focusing on how these pieces invite elevated everyday living. The Asri team was so fabulous and the shoot felt like being with old friends.

With Asri, I styled vignettes to emphasize the aspirational yet attainable quality of the collection. From cozy reading nooks bathed in natural light to open-concept spaces designed for gathering, every shot aimed to highlight the personality and functionality of the collection. The Asri team was incredible to work with, and their attention to detail comes through not only in their collection, but in the production of the shoot environment. We captured this collection at Subtle Haus, a beautiful co-working space and creative studio downtown. The floor-to-ceiling windows made for such beautiful natural light.

This project was a true highlight of my year, and I’m excited to see how Asri Homes continues to shape the landscape of modern living. If you’re as inspired by their vision as I am, I encourage you to explore their collection here.

Thank you, Asri Homes, for trusting me to capture the heart of your launch collection. Here’s to more opportunities to tell the stories of extraordinary spaces!

Bainbridge New Construction | Seattle Interior Design Photography

Capturing the essence of a custom-designed home on Bainbridge Island is an interior photographer's dream. When the design brilliance of Noble Interiors meets the staging finesse of McKith Interiors, we get this — a stunning and unique space that feels anything but builder-grade. As a photographer, stepping into such a thoughtfully designed space means there are few tough angles, and my job is just to compose beautiful images based on light and texture. McKith Interiors reached out to photograph this home in an editorial style. It’s hitting the MLS but real estate photos often display a home in a really specific way, and they wanted their work to be shown in a more lifestyle, natural style. This is my specialty, and I love it when I can show a space in detail with artful compositions. I get even more excited when my clients get excited about this process!

One of the most captivating aspects of photographing this home is the seamless dance between the hard finishes and thoughtful staging. Noble Interiors' design ethos, often rooted in embracing natural elements, ensures that the spaces work with natural light in a tonal quality. This not only highlights the architectural details but also creates an inviting feeling that translates through photographs. At that point McKith Interiors caught the baton and paired the space with artfully crafted furnishings and decor that highlighted the natural beauty of the home, keeping in mind its peaceful PNW setting.

The best part about when the design and furnishings are a perfect match? Editorial-worthy photographs that effortlessly blend the warmth of natural light with the sophistication of a well-staged interior. Each image not only showcases the beauty of the space but also evokes a sense of lifestyle and aspiration. From the soft glow of afternoon light filtering through the windows into the cozy great room to the dramatic interplay of the office through the striking arched glass doors, every moment captured reflects this excellent mashup of light and design.

It was so much fun to photograph this project! Haley McKinley, the owner of McKith Interiors, shadowed me on this shoot holding the “client iPad” where you can see images as I’m taking them. It’s the best way to go about a shoot like this where details really matter and small adjustments to composition make a big difference. With her brilliant eye, we were able to rotate things just a bit or nudge a chair this way or that to create visually balanced editorial images that feel different from traditional real estate photos.

Phinney Modern Tudor | Seattle Interior Photographer

This modern Tudor in Seattle’s Phinney Ridge neighborhood is a spectacular example of what happens when a good design and build team put their minds together to create an entirely new space. I couldn’t believe the way they changed the layout of this residence in every single way, still preserving the historical Tudor aesthetic of the home, but making it a way better place to live for the modern era. I don’t think I could pick a favorite spot, but how gorgeous is that entry?! The wallpaper and painted paneling make it such a great way to enter the home every day, and especially when greeted by sweet Nelson (spot her?).

The design was created by Kallan Nelson of Kallan Interiors. Kallan is highly experienced in residential design and it was fun to pick her brain about her process on this project:

"When our clients came to us needing help remodeling their charming 1929 Tudor home, it was clear it needed quite the overhaul but we wanted to make sure it didn't lose its character. We did this by adding archways in the entry and kitchen, selecting timeless finishes like the entry wallpaper and white oak hardwood floors, and keeping with an overall neutral color palette with the occasional pop of color. The guest bathroom being the exception as we saw this as being a fun area to go a little crazy and add mauve tile wainscoting as this was one the clients favorite colors."

The build was done by RW Anderson Homes, and left no detail untended to. The craftsmanship in this home is top notch.

I was really inspired by the arched doorways when photographing this space. Architectural details like this help delineate spaces and create natural opportunities for photo vignettes. These details create visual frames, making glimpses from room to room an actual picture. In my natural light approach to interior photography, one of the challenges is representing the light of a space accurately as it appears to the eye. This involves some technical footwork in capturing many exposures of the same composition and blending them together in my editing software. This creates a true-to-life impression of the space and honors the way the design intended for light to enter the home.

Hope you enjoy this beautiful project!
